A TEENAGER was left with a fractured jaw after an unprovoked attack in Leigh.
The 16-year-old victim was walking along Eldon Street when he heard a shout but could not make out what was said.
A youth then ran from behind him, stopped in his path and demanded to know why he had ignored him. The offender then grabbed his shoulders and the victim tried to push him away.
The victim told police he was aware of another boy and two girls standing nearby, but cannot remember anything else about the incident.
The victim was left with a cut to his eyebrow and a fracture to the right side of his jaw.
It happened between 9.45pm and 10pm on Friday, November 28, The offender is described as a white boy, aged 15 or 16, about 5ft 8ins or 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
PC Stephen Lilley, based at Wigan Police Station, said: “This was a unprovoked assault on a boy who was simply minding his own business and it is vital we apprehend his attackers. I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward.”
