SCOTT Quigg is hoping to cap a perfect year’s work by extending his unblemished professional record to 11 victories tomorrow night.
The 20-year-old rising star has already won five fights this year, four of them inside the distance, and he steps into the ring for the final time in 2008 at Wigan Robin Park Leisure Centre.
Quigg does not know his opponent yet, but he is confident he is in peak condition to try and made it five knockouts in a row.
“I am feeling good and very fit,” said Quigg. “I have stopped my opponent in my last four fights, but it’s only so easy because I go into my fights in the best possible shape.
“If I didn’t put in the hard yards in training, I wouldn’t be able to put on such a good show. Everything has to come together in the ring, in terms of strength and timing, and I work hard throughout the year to make sure it does.
“I have stepped up in class quite a bit this year, but I have still carried on winning and improving. Hopefully I can win on Saturday and go into next year still undefeated.”
