CANCER sufferer Deborah Stretton is back from what she hopes will be a life-saving trip to Mexico.

The 42-year-old travelled to The Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana in the hope the treatment will help halt breast, lymphatic and her lung cancer.

Deborah had been told her cancer cannot be treated conventionally but the hospital has had great success in helping people with supposedly incurable cancers.

Now she is back at home in Farnworth, Deborah has to take 55 tablets a day and have drug injections.

Every three months, she has to pay £2,000 for the drugs that she hopes will save her life and she will also have to return to Mexico in three months for further treatments. Her brother, David Stretton, helped to fund the trip but more money is needed now to continue the treatment.

The hospital uses a range of treatments to help patients, including oxygen therapy and high-dose vitamins.

“It is a lovely place and they ensure you eat healthy food and they work on your spiritual health,” said Deborah.

Friends and family have organised a fund-raising event tomorrow at Derby Ward Labour Club in Deane Road from 7.30pm to midnight.

There will be music and a disco and an auction of various items including jewellery, toiletries and gifts for Christmas.

Tickets, priced £3, can be bought at the door.
