FRANK Warren believes Oisin Fagan will be no pushover for Amir Khan’s return to the ring on Saturday, following the Bolton boxer’s embarrassing first round defeat three months ago.

Khan lost in just 54 seconds in sensational fashion to Colombian Breidis Prescott, but his manager and promoter says his Irish opponent is not a soft option for the Commonwealth lightweight champion.

Warren said: “He is an opponent who is very durable and will definitely come to fight. It is as tough as Amir can get mentally.”

Warren said Khan would not be looking to finish the job quicker than necessary, especially after his bad experience in his last fight.

“He is certainly prepared to go the distance,” said Warren.

“But he has the character and ability to deal with what happened in his last fight and to learn from it and I do believe he will go on to become a world champion.

“Going to America has done him a big favour by getting away from the microscope he lives under and all the stuff he does outside the ring.

“He is a young guy who is very popular and gets pulled here and there.

“This has given him time to recharge his batteries and focus 100 per cent on his boxing.

“He is a quality boxer and I really do believe he will go out and prove he can come back with a big bang.

“We are not looking for Amir to win in one round we want to see what he has learned. He has to curb his enthusiasm and think all the time.”
