BOLTON-born celebrity Vernon Kay is going back to where his career started next week, when he helps to host Clothes Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham.
In 1996 Kay, who grew up in Lostock, was packing bananas in a factory when he was spotted by talent scouts at Clothes Show Live. Soon after, Kay was named Model of the Week on Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast and the presenting offers began to flood in. He has presented his own Radio One show and is sought after to host TV shows, including the long-running Family Fortunes.
He now lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife, fellow presenter Tess Daly and their daughter Phoebe, aged three.
Next Monday and Tuesday, instead of being a model hopeful, he will be hosting events at the NEC where there will be catwalk shows, dance performances, previews of forthcoming high street collections and appearances by style experts.
