A stunned Joe Swash felt "betrayed" to learn David Van Day has deliberately been playing off his camp mates against one another.

Glamour model Nicola McLean told the actor her former nemesis had confessed his plan to her as they tackled the Celebrity Chest, leaving Joe upset as he struggled to comprehend the betrayal of his 'I'm A Celebrity. Get Me Out Of Here!' camp mate.

Nicola told Joe: "David said to me, 'We have to change it all now, why don't we do a bit of flirting, the arguments have been good.'

"He's been doing it all along for the cameras. He said to me that Joe was favourite to win and probably still is favourite now so let's get on his nerves and gang up on him. He is not bothered that no-one likes him, he thinks it's brilliant.

"He said it would be a brilliant plan to start murders with the rest of camp as it will keep us in until Friday."

Although initially amused, the former 'EastEnders' star soon got angry and later seemed confused about who was telling the truth.

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, he said: "Either David has taken my good nature and manipulated me or Nic is being untruthful, one way or another I'm being taken advantage of and if it's David then he's trying to mug me off.

He's used me and now he wants to abuse me.

"I've looked out for him and Timmy, I've put my neck on the line and he now wants to take it a step further and have me feel uncomfortable.

"This is a game and I weren't playing properly by all accounts, this game needs to stop. I need to get back to the people that I trust."

Meanwhile, David talked about how he had made friends with Nicola and added: "Our friends in camp are quite happy, apart from miserable, I'm not so sure he'll be here tomorrow. It's a long shot but a cat only has so many lives and he may run out."
