THE story of Jacqui Jones-Roberts and her four-year-old son Ethan is truly inspirational.

When Jacqui was four months pregnant she was devastated to be told the baby she was expecting would have Down's Syndrome.

Instead of opting for a termination though, Jacqui decided to find out as much as she could about the condition and give her son the best life possible. How right she was to do so.

Despite only have a developmental age of two-and-a-half, Ethan is happy and loved by his family and earlier this year Jacqui, who had felt alone throughout her pregnancy and early years with her son, helped to form a support group specially for Down’s children.

The group has helped Jacqui and other parents as well as their children and hopefully will also prove beneficial to other families in the future. It is important that the group continues to be a success, so that other parents in similar situations can seek help and support and end up with loving relationships with their sons and daughters.

The group needs to raise money to survive and we believe the people of Bolton will give it their full support.
