POLICE officers from Salford have been arresting “offenders” in the name of charity.
As part of the St Ann’s Hospice “Lock up your Boss” event, 14 managers from across Greater Manchester were arrested for various “crimes”, from supporting Manchester City for 25 years, to wearing Jimi Choo shoes to work.
They were then taken to GMP’s museum in Newton Street where they were sentenced, according to the seriousness of their crimes, with bail set between £800 and £1,000.
Pc John Faulkner, from Salford Central Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We’ve never had so much fun arresting people. The day was hilarious and we raised money for a worthy cause.”
Dipti Lakhani, fundraising officer for the hospice in Peel Lane, Little Hulton, said: “I am really grateful to the officers for helping make our event a success.”
