LEIGH Genesis’ fixture problems continue to grow after their Pemier League clash at Bradford Park Avenue was called off on Saturday because of a frozen pitch.
But they had good news with the re-signing of midfielder Steve Settle.
The 26-year-old originally joined the club back in October, 2006, when they were in the Blue Square North from Atherton LR.
He was a fans’ favourite during his time at Leigh but left the club in June to join Unibond Premier Division rivals Witton Albion.
After a number of impressive performances for the Wincham Park club, he had stamped his authority on the Unibond League, but October saw him plagued by a niggling injury.
However, now back to near full fittnes, Settle linked up wth his former club once more. Manager Lee Merricks said: “Steve just wants to play football, and as player of great experience, he can help guide this young team through the season. He is a player I have been excited about for a long time.”
