WORK is set to begin next week to improve conditions on Scout Road, which connects Smithills Dean Road to Belmont Road in Bolton.
The scheme, expected to be completed in spring 2009, will improve the Smithills Dean Road junction, upgrade the highway drainage system and resurface the road, at a cost of £750,000.
The work will be undertaken by Bolton Council engineers and local firm J Hopkins (Contractors) Ltd.
Although for safety reasons temporary traffic signals will be required for much of the time, any disruption will be kept to a minimum and any closures or diversions will be signed in advance.
For further information contact the council’s highways helpline on 01204 336677.
