THE church of St Thomas and St John’s in Lostock was the venue for the special wedding of Isla Crowder and Jack Melling.
But it was a wedding with a difference — the happy couple are both aged four!
To bring the learning of festival and cultures alive for their pupils, teachers at Lostock Primary School organised the mock wedding.
Nothing was forgotten in the preparations, from the reading of the banns, to the guests’ name cards on the table.
Reception teacher/wedding planner Catherine Ballentyne said: “The mock wedding was about bringing learning alive. Children learn more through experience and fun.
“No detail was forgotten, from having a best man, bridesmaids, table decorations and parents came as guests of the bridge and groom.
“Next week we have a lady coming into talk to the children about Muslim weddings.”
