A MAN employed to wash cars secretly stole cheques from his boss, a court heard.
Richard White, aged 22, who worked at Hindley Green Motors, Wigan, accessed the boss’s cheque book and wrote four cheques to himself.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that he cashed three, totalling £12,950, but when he banked the fourth for £3,700 the bank manager became suspicious and White was arrested.
White, of Nightingale Crescent, Brackwell, Berkshire, pleaded guilty to three offences of obtaining property by deception and one attempted deception. Sentence was deferred for six months and he was remanded on bail until May 8 on condition he pays back his former boss and stays out of trouble.
