A Bolton man who police believe filmed himself with guns and posted the footage on the internet, has been sentenced to five years in a Young Offenders Institute.
Anthony Horrocks, aged 20, of Brandwood Street, Daubhill, was found guilty of two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm and three counts of possessing ammunition without the correct authority, following a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
At around 6.25am on Wednesday, January 9, officers executed a warrant at Horrocks's home address, which had been granted under the Firearms Act 1968.
During a search of his bedroom officers discovered two firearms and 200 rounds of ammunition. Horrocks was arrested at a different address a short time later.
Detective Constable Dave Fox of Bolton CID said: "Horrocks did not give a second thought to keeping these dangerous weapons at his home.
"Not only was he prepared to keep the guns, he posted footage, of what we believe to be him handling them, on the Internet.
"This kind of action is completely unacceptable. Regardless of whether or not he intended to use the weapon, harbouring one will not be tolerated and carries severe repercussions."
