PAULA Abernethy took the honours for Radcliffe Athletic Club in the South East Lancs Cross Country event at Clayton Vale on Saturday.
She was 14th out of 49 runners and third veteran over-40 finisher.
Her husband David (veteran over-40) was fourth among the club’s men.
Following Paula home were Rachael Ellison, Yasmin Parapia and Eileen Royle (veteran over-60). The women’s team finished fifth.
Veteran over-50 Adrian Harris was first Radcliffe man in 35th out of 116, showing he is getting back to his form after injury.
Dave Bartlett was the next Radcliffe runner to cross the line with Kevin Curran (veteran over-40), George Critchley (veteran over-50) and Jim Sutcliffe (veteran over-40) following him home to complete an 11th-place finish for the veteran men’s team.
