THE search is on for Bolton’s next Youth MPs.
Bolton Council is staging a session on Sunday, November 30 between 1.30pm and 4.30pm at the YMCA in Deansgate in Bolton to help find new representatives for the town’s youngsters.
Young people aged 13 to 19 will be invited to take part in fun workshops and debates, meet local councillors and listen to how they campaign for change.
There will also be a chance to learn about the democratic process and discuss the issues which affect young people.
Last year’s Youth MPs, Zuhayr Adia and Nafisah Atcha and deputy Youth MPs Niall McGloin and James Murray will be on hand to share their experiences and talk about their role.
Youth MPs represent Bolton’s young people on a local and national level. They lobby parliament as part of a national UK Youth Parliament group and sit on Bolton’s Children’s Trust.
Youth MP elections will take place in February, 2009.
