THE credit crunch may be squeezing small businesses but the increasing demands and costs of health and safety legislation still have to be met.

Now, in a bid to help small businesses get through the global financial crisis, Bolton-based training provider Alliance Learning has formed a consultancy service aimed at cutting the costs of health and safety.

The Health and Safety Consultancy service has been formulated to help small businesses across the North-west save money by training an existing staff member instead of employing a full-time health and safety officer.

Qualified advisers will be available on a consultancy basis to visit sites and advise on procedures such as audits, inspections, risk assessments and health and safety policies.
