LEIGH Genesis have restructured their backroom staff following the recent upheaval when chairman Dominic Speakman pulled the plug on the Unibond Premier League side.
New manager Lee Merricks has appointed Stuart Brown and Lee Doherty as his assistants. Both coaches worked for the club’s reserve team at the start of the season and have now made the step up to the first team.
Also moving up is physiotherapist Kat Wise, who has been involved with the club since the start of the season. She has worked for Championship club Blackpool as well as rugby league’s Wigan Warriors.
Wayne Watkins and Robin Philp have been appointed managers of the reserves.
Genesis have several rearranged games and the fixtures for the remainder of the year are: Monday, November 24 – Atherton Collieries (Lancs Trophy first round) (a); Saturday, November 29 – Bradford Park Avenue (a); Tuesday,December 2 – Prescot Cables (a); Saturday, December 6 – Ashton United (Challenge Cup third round) (a); Saturday, December 13 – Hednesford Town (h); Friday, December 26 – Witton Albion (h).
