BOLTON Wanderers’ international stars joined school children at the Reebok to talk about their different cultures.
Swedish striker, Johan Elmander, Dutch winger, Riga, and Polish defender, Jaroslaw Fojut, worked with groups of children who attempted to interview the players in their own languages.
The players also took time out to question the youngsters on their knowledge of their home countries.
Elmander, Wanderers’ record signing, said: “It is brilliant that the club and the schools have worked so hard and taken the time and effort to explore our backgrounds and cultures.
“It is great to be able to spend time with children from Bolton schools and to be able to teach them something about where I am from and to have a small conversation with them in my language.”
The event was organised by Study@BWFC, which opened in 1999 and has worked with more than 80 schools in Bolton.
The initiative offers out-of-hours study support and helps to raise standards in literacy and numeracy.
This is the third annual language event run by Study@BWFC.
