A VIOLENT thug who was wanted by police after failing to report to his bail hostel was arrested in a pub following a tip-off.
Anthony Thomas Webb, aged 24, was wanted on recall to prison after failing to comply with the terms of his licence, which required him to stay at a Bury hostel.
Police appealed in The Bolton News on Wednesday for help and arrested Webb that night in The Castle pub, Tonge Moor, after tip-offs.
In 2005, Webb knocked a man unconscious after hitting him over the head with a chair at Yates’s Wine Lodge, Bolton. He was convicted of wounding in May, 2006, and sentenced to five years in prison.
He was released on licence in August, 2008. He failed to return to the bail hostel on September 28.
