school pupils are celebrating the first anniversary of a scheme aiming to make singing a key part of classroom life.
Sing Up is a national programme which aims to help children become more confident and to have more fun at school.
More than 13,000 schools are involved and organisers want every school to join up.
Plodder Lane Primary School in Farnworth is taking part and staff say singing activities have had a huge impact.
Assistant headteacher Jessica Kavanagh said: “This has got lots of children singing and they love it. We use singing in lessons, for lining up in queues and whenever we can.
“It is a major focus for us and has improved behaviour, confidence and, of course, singing.”
Schools can get hold of Sing Up education resources through the website, singup.org.
