THE Derby Ward Labour Club is hosting a fund-raising party in aid of firefighter Steve Morris, who was seriously injured when he tried to rescue a family from their arson-hit Bolton home.
The event will be held at the club in Deane Road, Deane, on Friday at 7.30pm.
Five local acts will be performing free of charge, as well as the club’s house band, Fusion.
All money raised will go to the Firefighters Charity, which supports firemen and women injured through their work.
Mr Morris, from Bolton Central fire station’s green watch, suffered 50 per cent burns when he entered the house in Little Holme Walk, in Great Lever, on June 23.
He is slowly recovering from his injuries at Wythenshawe Hospital’s specialist burns unit. He will benefit from the charity’s support for the rest of his life.
Grandmother Hameeda Begum, aged 71, and four-year-old Alana Mian lost their lives in the blaze.
Alana’s mum, Saima, aged 24, was also seriously injured in the blaze. She spent two months in hospital but was released in September Tickets for the party cost £4 and are available on the door or from the club in advance.
