LITTLE Lever School took pole position at this year’s Formula One in Schools Challenge.
The school’s Red Kites drove away winning the Rookie Section at the North-west regional final of the 2008/09 UK1 in Schools Technology Challenge at Manchester University.
Budding engineers from the school designed their own scale model cars to race for the place, which will now see them go through to the national finals.
Westhoughton School’s Flamin’ Tyres won the local team sponsors and marketing award for their achievements.
