PLANS to build a large house in the gardens of an historic home in Bradshaw have been narrowly approved.
Janet Moller, who lives in Barwood House in Bradshaw Brow, was granted permission to build a three-storey detached house behind it.
Her plans had previously been rejected by Bolton Council because of neighbours’ fears over the safety of a planned new access road into Bradshaw Brow.
They had argued that another large house in the neighbourhood would add to parking problems in narrow Back Bradshaw Brow and Timberbottom.
But the planning committee approved Ms Moller’s revised plans by a majority vote after hearing how the plot had two entrances and enough private parking for two cars.
Last year, the council gave Ms Moller permission to use part of Barwood House as an office for an internet recruitment company.
