THE doors of the Victoria Hall Methodist Mission will be open after Sunday’s “Big Bolton Switch On” of the town’s Christmas lights.
A variety of activities, including Christmas card and decoration-making, festive fruit punch demonstrations and carol singing will be held in the Main Hall from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
There will also be the chance for children to get a free photograph of themselves with Father Christmas and Lofty the Lion.
The Rev Phil Mason, of Victoria Hall Methodist Mission, said: “This is the third year that we have held this event in partnership with Bolton Council and Tower FM.
“It’s great to continue with the fun of such a great evening with an event for all the family. It helps us to remember the true spirit of Christmas.”
The Big Bolton Switch On gets under way in Victoria Square from 3pm.
The afternoon will feature a variety of entertainment, including Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson and Tower FM DJs, bands and dance groups.
Bolton-born TV presenter Vernon Kay will then switch on the lights at 5.30pm before the fun switches to Victoria Hall.
