A PENSIONER was in a serious condition in hospital on Tuesday after she was hit by a car.
The emergency services were called to Lee Lane, Horwich, at around 9.15am after the 80-year-old woman pedestrian was struck by a black Toyota Yaris.
She was taken the Royal Bolton Hospital with serious head and leg injuries.
Lee Lane was closed at its junctions with Winter Hey Lane and Brownlow Road for most of the day while police conducted investigations at the scene. It re-opened at around 3.15pm.
The woman driver of the car stopped at the scene and no arrests were made. Traffic police are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
