THREE Bolton men have been charged by police in connection with a “crash for cash” insurance scam.
Ershad Khan, aged 22, and Iqbal Khan, aged 48, both of Argo Street, Daubhill, were charged on Tuesday with conspiracy to commit fraud.
Ettorina Hay, aged 28, of Kirby Road, Bolton, who was previously charged with possession of criminal proceeds, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit fraud.
The charges are part of a police investigation, Operation Contact, which is looking into several hundred road traffic collisions that took place in Lancashire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester, and their subsequent insurance claims. The three men are due to appear before Stockport Magistrates Court next Tuesday.
