BOLTON under-17s succumbed to a narrow 7-0 defeat away at Littleborough.
They defended valiantly, and the forwards deserve praise for some brave work, with Josh Coates and Josh Hughes deserving special mentions for massive tackle counts.
The under-13s suffered a disappointing 35-3 defeat at the hands of neighbours Bury.
Bury went at Bolton with all guns blazing, which paid off because Bolton were three tries down inside five minutes.
Andrew Jolly made some great runs and scored Bolton’s try. This earned him player-of-the- match award. H Scourfield won the team players award.
Injuries to Josh Ledwidge and Tyler Corless marred the game.
Bury also inflicted a defeat on the under-11s, the final score being 30-14.
Next week sees a visit to Trafford MV in the cup.
A combined Bolton and Eccles girls team beat Caldy 40-32 in an impressive display.
Lorna Benson, in her first ever rugby match, Rebecca Trist (2), Hannah Marland, and Jenny Whittle all scored tries. The majority of these were converted by the scorers themselves.
The team are back in action this weekend when they play Sandbach and Northwich.
