ATHERTON LR’S game at St Helens Town tonight will be the club’s 900th in the Vodkat NW Counties League.
LR joined the league as founder members in 1982 when they moved from the Cheshire Country League and, apart from three seasons in the Northern Premier League in the mid-90s, have been members ever since.
Dave Hughes’ side, who have lost just once in 12 league games, return to Premier Division action after a shock 3-1 home defeat by Bacup Borough last week in the Lancashire FA County Trophy.
