Full time: That's it here at the Reebok. A decent Whites display but Liverpool's class told in the end. How controversial was Rob Styles' decision to disallow Gary Cahill's first-half 'equaliser'? Tell us.

90+2: Lucas should have scored a third for Liverpool but put his header from six yards wide of the post after an excellent cross from Gerrard.

86mins: It must be catching. Lucas robs Gardner at the other end and squares for Torres to finish the job. But the striker can only hammer his shot against the post from six yards.

84mins: Gardner wastes another golden chance. After Nolan chipped the ball into the box, the Jamaican winger could only hook the ball over the top with the goal begging.

45mins - Gary Cahill heads the ball home but the goal is disallowed by Rob Styles for a foul on Reina. Guess who won't be getting a Christmas card from Gary Megson this year.

42mins - Steinsson plays Davies through on goal but Reina is quick off his line to kick the ball into touch. Probably Wanderers' best chance so far - but with just one goal in it, they are still in this game.

35mins - Agger tries from distance but his shot whistles narrowly wide. If Liverpool score again before half time, I'd say it is game, set and match.

31mins: Keane misses an open goal from four yards, swinging at a low ball from Kuyt but failing to connect. It should really have been 2-0.

The Bolton News: Goals! 29mins: Riera swings the ball in from the left and Kuyt produces an excellent header to beat Jaaskelainen. Wanderers 0 Liverpool 1.

18mins - Daniel Agger heads Riera's cross just wide after a prolonged spell of pressure.

13mins: Nolan tries his luck from 25 yards but curls a shot straight into Reina's arms. Decent start for Wanderers who are more than holding their own.

12mins - Albert Riera goes close for Liverpool, cutting in from the left, his goalbound shot deflected off Gary Cahill to safety.

3mins - Fast start for Wanderers. Matty Taylor drags a left-footed shot narrowly wide of Pepe Reina's post.

0mins - Just about to kick off. Did I mention the referee was Rob Styles??

KEVIN Nolan comes straight back into the side for Wanderers after suspension, with unlucky winger Ricardo Gardner dropping to the bench for today’s game with high-flying Liverpool.

The club skipper missed last week’s victory at Hull but has made an immediate return to Gary Megson’s side, in what looks to be a five-man midfield.

Only two of Liverpool’s line-up started their midweek defeat against Spurs in the Carling Cup. But compared to their last league outing – a 3-0 win over West Brom, Rafa Benitez brings in Sammi Hyppia and Xabi Alonso for Yossi Benayoun and the suspended Alvaro Arbeloa.

Teams – Wanderers: Jaaskelainen; Steinsson; Samuel; Andy O’Brien; Cahill; Muamba; Taylor; Nolan; McCann; Davies; Elmander. Subs: Al-Habsi; Helguson; Basham; Shittu; Smolarek; Obadeyi; Gardner.

Liverpool: Reina; Hyppia; Agger; Keane; Carragher; Gerrard; Riera; Aurelio; Alonso; Kuyt; Mascherano. Subs: Cavalieri; Dossena; Torres; Benayoun; Babbel; Lucas; Darby.
