A MAN who raped a 15-year-old girl twice and sexually abused her has been jailed for 12 years.

Keith Miller, aged 31, of Winchester Way, Breightmet, would sneak into the girl’s bedroom at night and abuse her before leaving, a court heard.

He was found guilty of seven separate offences, including two of rape, three of sexual assault and two of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

He was cleared of one further count of sexual assault.

Bolton Crown Court heard that the offences took place over three years when the girl was between the ages of 15 and 18.

The court was told that Miller twice raped his victim between January, 2005, and January, 2006.

Neil Fryman, defending, said Miller had had a difficult upbringing but that did not excuse his client’s behaviour.

Miller was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
