A BOLTON student wants to speak to working class women about the clothes they wore during World War Two.

Alison Slater, aged 26, from Tonge Moor, wants to interview women living in Bolton who wore adult-sized, working-class clothes during the war.

Mrs Slater said: “These women struggled to support their country and maintain their families, but we know little about the role of clothing in their own lives.”

Mrs Slater is a PhD student at Manchester Metropolitan University. Anyone interested should write to: Alison Slater, MIRIAD PhD Candidate, Manchester Metropolitan University, Righton Building, Cavendish Street, Manchester, M15 6BG.
