BOLTON film talent will be on show at this year’s Salford Film Festival.
The event will feature Joe O’Byrne’s Lookin’ For Lucky, Ultimatum Films’ Duty Calls and Austin Brothers Films’ Guy’s Guide To Zombies.
The festival opens today, and runs until November 23.
Lookin’ For Lucky, filmed around Bolton and which will premier at the Lowry’s Red cinema on Wednesday, tells the story of brothers Moses and Chalky, who live on the fictional council estate Paradise Heights.
Two films, Duty Calls and Guy’s Guide To Zombies, will also be featured as part of the Caught Short 2: Quirks And Twists showcase at Salford Arts Theatre on Friday.
Paul Blinkhorn, director of Duty Calls, said: “It’s a great opportunity. The majority of filmmakers start out in short films and it’s a good way to experiment, so it’s nice to get something like this in a festival.”
This is the fifth year of the festival. Last year, the event was under threat due to funding issues, but was revived thanks to support from famous faces including Sir Ben Kingsley.
