KEVIN Davies insists Wanderers should have nothing to fear when title-chasing Liverpool arrive at the Reebok Stadium this weekend.

The striker knows what it takes to beat the Mersey men on home turf, having helped Sam Allardyce’s Whites seal a famous 2-0 victory in September 2006.

Wanderers have not got the better of Rafa’s Reds since that day, losing twice against them last season, including a 4-0 hammering at Anfield.

But Davies sees no reason why his side cannot build on back-to-back victories against Hull and Manchester City to put a dent in their opponents’ championship ambitions.

“The last two games have given everyone a lot of confidence,” said Davies, who leads Wanderers’ scoring charts with four goals.

“They are a world-class side, but we’ve got results against them in the past and we can do it again.

“We beat Manchester United at home last season and we beat Liverpool here the year before, so we know we can do it.”

Tottenham dumped a largely second-string Liverpool side out of the Carling Cup in midweek.

But Davies believes the Reds’ 4-2 defeat will have little impact on today’s early kick-off.

“They rested a lot of players and not many who started against Spurs will play against us,” said the 31-year-old hitman.

“It will be a lot different but we’re just concentrating on ourselves and we want to keep winning. “We’ve got Liverpool, then a couple of tough away games against Middlesbrough and Sunderland and Chelsea at home, so it’s a difficult next four games.

“But if we can get a result against Liverpool then it will set us up nicely.”
