Bury Under-14s bid to make it through to the quarter-finals of the North West Woodward Trophy when they travel to Oldham for their first round clash at the Lancaster Club tomorrow, kick off 10.30am.
The local youngsters have suffered mixed fortunes so far this season and, after opening their Greater Manchester Schools’ League programme with a couple of victories against Salford and Wigan, they slipped to a 5-2 defeat to Manchester in their next league match.
A 4-2 defeat to Tameside in a challenge game followed before the local lads bounced back with a 3-1 preliminary round win against Wirral in the North West Woodward Trophy a fortnight ago.
U14s team manager Pietro Carinci will be hoping his side can put in another winning performance but they will have to hit top form if they are to overcome an Oldham side who are unbeaten so far this season.
