A YOUNG cyclist critically injured in an horrific road accident is making a gradual recovery after being taken off a life-support machine.
Jack Fewings, aged 12, suffered a severe head injury when he collided with a Citroen car while riding across Holly Street, Tottington, on November 3.
He was trapped under the vehicle’s wheels and was rescued by firefighters and paramedics.
Surgeons at Pendlebury Children’s Hospital removed a blood clot on Jack’s brain and his life remained in the balance for 48 hours.
But he has now been moved from the intensive care unit at Pendlebury Children’s Hospital where his condition is “stable”.
Parents Adam and Lynsey Fewings, of Walshaw Road, have another son, Harrison, aged three.
Family and friends have been keeping a bedside vigil.
Jack is a pupil at Tottington High School.
