A NURSE who won a prestigious award has travelled to Canada to see how patients are treated in the country.
Alison O’Neal, lead nurse at the Bealey Community Hospital in Radcliffe, won a travelling fellowship award from the Winston Churchill Trust.
Mrs O’Neal, aged 43, from Rossendale, travelled to Vancouver in September to learn more about caring for patients who have untreatable illnesses.
She said: “My visit was a life-changing experience and I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity. The trip enabled me to share good practice and different ways of working, which will support not only me, but my colleagues and patients.”
