A YOUTH project in Farnworth has been featured on a new DVD celebrating community projects.
Zac’s Bar is a Friday night initiative for young people in the area.
The film is called Alive and Kicking and has been produced by the Bolton and Rochdale District of the Methodist Church. Julia Gaines, a youth worker who helps out at Zac’s, said: ”It all started on a Friday ‘bar night’ with around 50 youngsters. Now there’s a core group who are now established in local churches.
“The scheme gives a message of hope through actions, words, projects and activities.”
The DVD, produced by John Nichols, shows five examples of ways that local churches have been bridging the gap between their church and local community.
The Rev Mark Street, of the Bolton and Rochdale District, said: “All the examples on the film are of ordinary people stepping out in faith. If these people can do it, then so can anyone.”
Copies of the DVD are available from the District Office, 5 Hillside, Heaton, Bolton, BL1 5DT.They cost £2.50 and cheques are payable to Bolton and Rochdale Methodist District.
