MORE than 30 jobs are under threat at a building and maintenance company.
Rok has announced 32 positions could go at its base in Westhoughton, which employs more than 270 people.
The Chorley Road site includes offices, central stores, a joiners shop and a paint shop.
All roles are affected in the proposals.
Martin Donnachie, managing director for Rok North-west, said: “In line with Rok’s plans to increase the amount of general building and maintenance work it does in local communities and ensure we compete with the best in this sector, we have had to look at the roles and skills we have available in our offices across the region.
“In Bolton, we have reviewed the number and type of roles in line with the most efficient models elsewhere in Rok and have found we have more people in certain roles than we need so, sadly, we are having to make some of these redundant.
“We know this will be a difficult time for the individuals concerned but we will be doing all we can to look at opportunities for re-training or relocation.
“Where this is not possible, we will be assisting with support and advice.”
