A 49-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of Amy Leigh Barnes.
The woman - the mother of the 21-year--old charged with murder - has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and will be questioned by officers. A 21-year-old man was yesterday charged with Amy's murder.
Ricardo Morrison, ahed 21, formerly of Birmingham appeared before Bolton Magistrates' Court today. He was remanded in custody Amy, 19, died in hospital on Saturday 8 November 2008. At 11.40am police were called to a house in Moss Street, Farnworth, following reports a woman had been stabbed.
A post mortem examination concluded that Amy died as a result of stab wounds.
