THE Eagley League returned to action on Sunday, refreshed after a week off, apart from Darcy Blues who were forced to concede due to illness.

The three top teams all won, but fourth-placed BB Belles lost to the leaders, Divas, and are now level on points with Darcy E who picked up points by default when Darcy Blues conceded.

Davies XI maintained their second place, just one point behind Divas, with a comfortable victory over Lord Raglan, and defending champions Redgate are three points off the lead following their 25-run win over Parceline, who are still without a point.

Eagley Pike Ladies moved two points clear of fellow strugglers Thomas Egerton after winning their basement battle by 45 runs.

In the Farnworth League, New Inn stayed a point ahead in Section A with a 23-run win over AJs after taking a 20-run lead in the first innings.

Elton Vale A kept in touch thanks to a comfortable victory over ISS Ladies who are still looking for their first points.

Adlington failed to leapfrog Grapes A, losing a tight match by 13 runs after trailing by eight on the first innings. BYP A beat Capital by the same margin to go two points ahead of their opponents and into joint fifth.

Unbeaten Wallys Eleven have a two-point lead in Section B after crushing BYP C by 71 runs. Ahead 84-52 at the interval, Wallys doubled their score in the second innings while dismissing BYP for 45.

BYP B fared better when they beat Little Lever CC by 52 to go fourth in the table, two points clear of Daves Minibus who lost by 42 runs to joint-second Elton Vale B, although they did win the second innings by two runs.

Blades Barbers’ 23-run win over bottom side Grapes B kept them level with Elton Vale B and just two points behind leaders Wallys Eleven.
