IMAGINATIVE designs are being drawn up to create new play areas in Bolton and bring existing ones into the 21st century.
Bolton Council has released details of the first seven play areas to benefit from £1,177,661 of Government funding.
As reported in The Bolton News, the cash will pay for 25 new play areas or refurbish existing ones over the next three years.
The first seven parks to benefit from the programme are Leverhulme Park, Breightmet; Old Station Park, Horwich; Westhoughton Central Park; Milnthorpe Road, Breightmet; Boardman Street, Blackrod; Astley Bridge Park, Park Road; and Captain Lees, Westhougton.
Plans for the seven areas are now being drawn up in consultation with local councillors.
