Some of these chimney pots may well be used as flower containers today.
They are certainly not perched on the top of these houses any more, as they are no longer there.
This is a view across the roofs to the Bolton Parish Church from Church Wharf, the date of the picture remains a mystery.
Despite that misty look often found on old photographs, Churchbank, alongside the church, is perfectly visible as is the Grand Theatre at the top of Churchbank, where Churchgate begins.
