Bolton snooker ace Craig Steadman is celebrating a second successive tournament victory.
Hot on the heels of winning the prestigious Pontin’s Autumn Festival, the 26-year-old ace won his latest PIOS ranking event in Prestatyn to give himself an exceptional chance of qualifying for the main professional tour next year. Steadman beat the in-form Mike Hallett 6-1 in the final.
The victory handed Steadman a maximum of 300 ranking points, to take his overall tally to 470. In the last two seasons, 620 and 570 points have been enough to secure an all-important top eight place.
Steadman, who is currently competing in the IBSF World Championships in Austria, said: “I played well and beat some good players in the draw.
“Winning is a habit, and I have got that mentality now. I have got extra belief, and go into games thinking that it will take a very good display to beat me these days.
“I have been playing well for a while and I hope it continues and I can qualify for the Main Tour next season.”
