It’s all about mixing it up and maxing out your imagination. Agyness Deyn’s Brit-cool look has inspired this trend – think creased denims with winkle pickers with neon socks. Bolton Boutique has searched the high street to bring you items certain to keep you ahead in the style stakes.
This complete look, far right, is courtesy of asos.com, where else for copy-cat fashion.
It does look very over-the-top, however, if you have the confidence to pull it off, then why not. If carbon copying is not your thing then pick one of the details and wear that.
Team the jacket with cropped jeans and All Star trainers. Rock a little black dress with studded shoes or leather gloves. Try lace tights with a plain black mini or team a plain vest T shirt with this intricately made skirt.
Top tip: Zips are hot this season so don’t be afraid of exposing yours. Pick them up in haberdashery shops and customise your clothing.
A twist on a Doc Martin classic, this lace-up boot is perfect for adding height to your punk look. At £70 from office, they are a pretty penny, however they are sure to last for many winter seasons ahead. This style is classically edgy, and the heel is a twist for those girls refusing to give up their inches.
Top tip: Wear with tights and a mini, you want to show these beauties off to the maximum.
Leather is hot on the high street and this frill skirt is no exception. River Island has come up trumps, making you feel more sexy vamp than mutton dressed as lamb. At £39.99 you need to be sure you’ll wear it as leather does come in and out of fashion.
Top tip: Don’t go head to toe with the look. Wear with softer plain fabrics, patterns just won’t do here.
If you want to get edgy without spending a fortune, then why not go for some accessories. This rose embellished ring comes in at £7 from Dorothy Perkins and will be a key piece for admirers to draw their eye to. Stumbling on the gawdy side, keep the outfit simple, try blacks or match one item of clothing to one of the colours in the stones.
Top tip: Less is more. Don’t wear a ring for every finger, if you’re not going all out punk then don’t over do it with cheap jewellery.
Going all out pretty in punk? Then you have to bag this dress from New Look at £45. The art deco vibe will certainly get you noticed. Team with the lace-up boots from Office and lace tights if you’re having fun with it. If not, plain black pumps will tone down the look. Top tip: Wear with plain cardigan in the day to get wear out of it.
