BOLTON produced a fighting finish to claim victory in a match that was a perfect advert for the game.

They got off to a good start when Braithwaite ended a terrific move to race in for the opening try and Walton extended the lead after good work by Clarke and Towler.

But Burnage got their reward for some good rugby by crossing for a converted try to make it 10-7 at half-time.

Bolton raised their game and Jolly crossed to take them further ahead but Burnage responded well to score twice more – one of which was converted – to lead 19-15 with just nine minutes to go.

Bolton’s reply came through their excellent pack with Turner, Barr, Fox and man-of-the-match Paddy McGrath outstanding, and their reward came when they snatched victory in an outstanding game with a pushover try four minutes from time.
