YOUNGSTERS at a Little Lever Primary School got a lesson in keeping fit and healthy from a charity dedicated to helping children.
MedEquip4Kids visited St Teresa’s RC Primary along with its mascot, Pip, as part of the charity’s education programme.
Pip taught the pupils to be as healthy as possible by keeping an eye on their diet, ensuring they get the right amount of sleep and doing one hour of exercise every day.
Following the lesson, pupils put their new-found knowledge to the test with pen and paper activities asking friends and family to make a donation to MedEquip4Kids in return for completing the games.
They raised £330, which will be spent providing hospitals and community health teams across the region with medical equipment to ensure children and babies receive the best possible treatment when sick or injured.
In return for their fundraising efforts, MedEquip4Kids presented the school with a Stay Active pack full of sports equipment.
Charity spokesman Evelyn Glarvey said: “We are aiming to have children across region complete 210,000 hours of exercise during this academic year and the children from St Teresa’s have made sure we are well on our way to achieving that.”
