IN agreement with the letter from A Wain, (Friday, October 3), edition. I had exactly the same response from the environmental services department, word for word — in fact, when my bin was not emptied on Thursday.
I went on to explain that this was the second week my bin had not been emptied, quite annoying especially last week when one or two from my row were emptied without any trouble, but at least six or seven were left behind.
And, surprise surprise, no one knows why! When I asked what I should do with excess rubbish, I was told that I would have to make arrangements to dispose of it myself.
How about a small council tax refund for my time and effort taking it to a tip — not a chance, I presume?
Whilst I do have sympathy for the refuse collectors, there should be something in place for when things like this happen.
Roll on next Thursday and three weeks’ rubbish!
