JUST two months after taking part in The BIG Bolton Health Check, supermarket manager Chris Livsey has never felt — or looked — better.
The 54-year-old took part in the simple, 10-minute assessment when health trainers visited Asda in Farnworth, where Mrs Livsey works as a service manager, in August.
Mrs Livsey was horrified to be told she had both high blood pressure and high cholesterol, which increased her chances of suffering from heart disease in the next decade.
The news was even more worrying as her father, Clifford Barlow, had died of a sudden heart attack, aged just 45, and she had suffered from angina four years earlier.
Mum-of-two Mrs Livsey said: “I had to have an angiogram four years ago because I had blocked arteries, so it was a real worry to be told I had high blood pressure but the health trainer was absolutely brilliant and talked me through everything I could do to reduce my risk and become healthier.”
Mrs Livsey, mother to Dawn, aged 32, and 30-year-old Gary, has now swapped fatty food for healthy versions — and dropped a whopping two stones, falling from 12-and-a-half stones to 10-and-a-half stones.
