THERE has been a huge response to the consultation over the Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) package, which will see public transport facilities in Bolton improved but a congestion charge introduced in Manchester.
People have just two weeks to send their views to the Greater Manchester Public Transport Executive.
More than 80,000 written responses have been received by Ipsos MORI, the independent research company tasked with compiling all the feedback from the consultation.
Mike Everett, a spokesman for Ipsos MORI, said: “This is an exceptionally high number of responses, especially as the response forms contain individual comments and views and are not just answers to a simple questionnaire."
The TIF package included up to £3 billion of funding for transport improvements in Greater Manchester.
Bolton would get a new town centre transport exchange, new train and bus routes and expanded park and ride schemes.
