LEIGH Genesis bounced back from a weekend defeat with an impressive victory at Marine last night.
A header from a corner by Andrew Teague three minutes before the break decided the game and lifted Genesis above their opponents into sixth place in the UniBond League Premier Division.
Genesis dominated the home side throughout, denying them many sights on goal with a solid defensive performance including a good show from goalkeeper Steve Dickinson.
They were bright going forward with winger Brad Naylor and striker Darren Mansaram.
Genesis now have 16 points from 10 games, five points more than FC United who have played a game less and lifted their spirits by ending a run of five games without a win with a resounding 4-0 victory at Ossett Town.
